On Easter Monday the District Final was contested between St Annes and Castletown Under 14s.
Despite the blustery conditions everyone enjoyed the game and St Annes eventually won 5-1

Pride of Cumbria
Air Ambulance

President Ian Edgar presents a cheque for £360 to Jan Hawkins from Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance. This was half the proceeds of a pub collection in Penrith and surrounding villages in December

100th Birthday

Bertha Airey was forced out of her home in Keswick due to the November floods and has taken up temporary residence in Greengarth Residential Home in Penrith. On Saturday President Ian presented Bertha with a bouquet of flowers at her birthday party to celebrate her century. In the photograph is her daughter Maureen Hardy.

Youth Activities

Young Ambassador of 21st Century

Our entrant, Lauren Johnstone, went to the District Final of the above competition at Garstang Hotel and Country Club on Sunday 22nd November to compete against 5 other entrants from clubs in our area. Lauren received a Certificate of Appreciation

Peace Poster Competition
The theme this year was 'The Power of Peace'. The winning picture in our local competition was forwarded to our District Final but unfortunately was not the winner. Hopefully we will be running the competition again next year so any budding artists should look out for further details later in the year.

Eamont Bridge Floods

These photographs were taken on Friday 20th November following the torrential rain that caused the river Eamont to burst it's banks and flood the village.

Senior Citizens Trip
Lions and their wives took 90 senior citizens for a trip out on Sunday 18th October. Although the weather was overcast we managed to see some stunning scenery before arriving at the Inn On The Lake Hotel, Glenridding for afternoon tea.

Penrith Lions Wishing Well
Penrith Lions Club Wishing Well outside the Tourist Information Centre.The money we collect is used for our welfare projects.

We have recently made donations to two projects at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School.

A party of 14 pupils and two teachers are visiting Malawi next summer and we have given a donation to the Young Enterprise Scheme
